Europe, 1963

On Monday, 19 August, I drove from Ostend to Liège, where I spent two nights staying with an AFS friend, Roland Simon. This is a photograph of a statue in central Liège of the 18th century composer, André Grétry. The Belgium flag is black, yellow, and red, and can be seen near the left- and right-hand edges of the traffic roundabout, while the red and yellow flags near the centre of the picture are the Liège flag.
