Europe, 1963

On Monday afternoon, 30 September, we visited Pisa and saw the famous Leaning Tower. Built in 1372 as a bell tower for the city’s cathedral, the tower leaned at an angle of 5.5 degrees when we saw it in 1963 (but since restoration work at the end of the 20th century, it now leans only about 4 degrees). |
