 The interior of Westminster Abbey. When he was a young doctor, my father gave an anaesthetic to Rudyard Kipling and, as a result, was invited to Kipling’s funeral in Westminster Abbey in 1936. In my father’s memoirs, he recalled that the “funeral was a most impressive ceremony, attended by royalty and many important people”. |
