We left Syros at 1:20 am on Saturday, 21 September; arrived in Athens at 7:30 am; and later that day set off for Corinth. This is a picture that was taken by Bill of the Corinth canal. Completed in 1893, the canal is only 70 feet / 21 metres wide at its base, but the cliffs beside it are three times higher.
