 Finally, the Palace of Westminster is home to the United Kingdom’s parliament. On Wednesday afternoon, 13 November, I visited the Palace of Westminster, sat in the public galleries, and saw the House of Commons in action for the first time. Less than two months later, I migrated to Australia as a “ten pound pom” and enrolled as a political science student at the University of Tasmania, which set the course for the rest of my life: I have studied parliaments and legislatures (as well as photographed them) ever since then (and this is, therefore, is an appropriate picture with which to conclude this album). |
