 Days 21 to 31 (5 to 15 October 1969) – WEST GERMANY: After leaving Copenhagen, Heather and I drove (via Rodby and Puttgarten) to West Germany, where we spent the next 10 nights: two in Hamburg, five in West Berlin, one in Nuremberg, and two in Munich. On 5 October, while we were driving from Copenhagen to Hamburg, we had a young Swiss woman, Martine Favre, with us. She had previously hitched a short ride with us in Sweden, and it was lovely seeing her and being able to help her again. In return, because she wasn’t going to be there, Martine told us we could stay in her student apartment in Berlin, which we duly did. |
