 Days 31 to 32 (15 to 16 October 1969) – MONDSEE: We were upset to find staying in the Salzburg youth hostel was way beyond our budget. After mulling over the situation (which I described as “20 minutes of disappointed meditation”), we opted to go to Mondsee. The youth hostel there was closed, but we were told to see if we could get into a private guest house (a pension) called Haus an der Sonne (which you don’t need advanced language skills to work out means House in the Sun). The owner welcomed us with open arms, and we happily decided to spend two nights in it. |
