Europe, 1969

Day 44 (28 October 1969) – INNSBRUCK: I took very few photos in Innsbruck because I thought some of its key attractions were “dirty and disappointing.” As I noted in my diary, when I’d visited Innsbruck in September 1963, it was only “five months before the 1964 Winter Olympics were held” in the city, and “everything has been cleaned and was looking its best.” As a result, I took very few photos and the only surviving transparency I have left from the time that Heather and I spent in Innsbruck in 1969 is this one of a red squirrel in one of the city’s parks!
