 Fifteen minutes after I set out from the trailhead, a hiker caught up with me. When he said hello, I said that he sounded as though he was from either Australia or New Zealand. He was, indeed, from Australia – from Melbourne to be precise – and his name was Geoff. We hiked together the rest of the way to the summit of Guadalupe Peak. |
