 The climb from the Marangu Gate (which is 1,860 metres / 6,102 feet above sea-level) to the Mandara huts (2,727 metres / 8,947 feet) covers 8 kilometres / 5 miles, and – according to the signpost that I’m leaning on – takes about three hours. |
