I don’t know what makes me cringe more: my terry-towelling sun-hat or the fact that I wore jeans on the mountain (to quote a Guide to Safety in Alpine Areas, “Never wear jeans … as these do not give adequate protection against wind, rain or snow”). In my defence, though, I should point out that I didn’t wear jeans on summit day. |
