
The itinerary I’d been given for the trip said, “the summit of Mafadi may well be your midday lunchtime highlight.” Thankfully, Otto and I were well ahead of that schedule, because – as I feared would be the case – the descent was tough and slow. This is a photograph of Otto setting off again at 8:53 am after we’d spent almost 40 minutes on top of Mafadi. The entire horizon in this photograph is the east / west watershed.
