 Sunday, 29 December 1996, was Heather’s and my 30th wedding anniversary. Thirtieth anniversaries are traditionally associated with a gift of pearls, but I didn’t give Heather any pearls. Instead, I gave her this brooch and told her I was casting a swine before a pearl. |
