 1979 I pioneered the use of electoral pendulums in New Zealand for illustrating the likely range of potential results in any given first-past-the-post general election. After analysing the results of the 1978 general election, Alan McRobie and I published an electoral pendulum in September 1979 for the 1981 general election – and that led to my first appearance on television in New Zealand. |
