 2017 On 10 September 2017 I stood on the summit of Mt Marcy, 1,629 m / 5,344 ft, the highest mountain in the state of New York, and – by doing so – became the first resident of the southern hemisphere (and only the sixth non-USA resident) successfully to have climbed all 50 of the state highpoints in the United States. It was a the end of a quest that had taken me more than 20 years. |
