 2018 I bought my kayak – a Penguin made by a New Zealand-company, Quality Kayaks – for $2,000 in 1999. It was one of the best investments I ever made: as this photograph taken by Alastair Smith on 9 May 2018 shows, I was still using it nearly 20 years later (and I’m delighted to say I’m still using it today). |
