 2022 On 11 September 2022, my mother’s youngest sister Gladys Selverstone (widely known as Bobbie) turned 100. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate her birthday with her in Damariscotta, Maine. In the front in this photograph taken on the big day itself are Bobbie, Simon (Bobbie’s great great nephew), and Jane Selverstone (Bobbie’s daughter). In the back row are Andrew Selverstone (Bobbie’s oldest child and elder son), me (Bobbie’s nephew), Ben Gutzler (Jane’s son and Bobbie’s grandson), and Evan (Bobbie’s great nephew). Sadly, Bobbie – the last remaining member of my family in the generation above me – died early in 2023. |
