Camino de Santiago |
 Day 12 (Tuesday, 5 October 2010) – San Juan de Ortega to Burgos (27.5 kms): It was pitch dark when we left the Monastery of San Juan de Ortega’s hostel at 7:20 am, especially as we started off walking though a forest! It’s worth noting that large parts of Spain are west of Britain (San Juan de Ortega, for example, is further west than Cardiff), but Spanish time is an hour ahead of the UK. As a result, it’s dark much later in the mornings in Spain than it really ought to be. |
