Climbing Mt Elbert |
 A travel grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand enabled me to go to the United States in mid-2009 to work on a research project with political scientists from the University of Washington and the University of California, San Diego. On my way to the meeting, I took the opportunity to visit friends in California, Bob Slyker and Peggy Wall, who are pictured here with me at the end of a hike we did on 19 June in the foothills of Sierra Nevada mountains. |
