Climbing Granite Peak

The ground got much rockier, and we made our way gingerly across huge talus fields. This picture, taken shortly before 11:00 am, is of Jeff during a break we took to have a drink and a snack after we saw Granite Peak for the first time. The top of the mountain is just visible slightly to the right of the centre of the photograph – in the trough of the “U”-shaped gap between two hills with round summits on the plateau.
