 First attempt: Eric Hodge and I flew to Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, 23 June 2007, and met up with the Marcus family – Amanda and Roger and their daughters, Monica and Julia. On Monday evening, 25 June 2007, Eric, Roger and I sorted and packed our climbing gear in the Marcus' living room, and Amanda took this photograph of the three of us while we were getting ready.
