At 6:25 am I took one last photo from the summit of Mt Hood before we began our descent. It's a telephoto shot looking north towards the two highest peaks in Washington – Mt Rainier (14,410 feet / 4,392 metres above sea-level) on the left, and Mt Adams (12,281 feet / 3,743 metres) on the right. Mt Adams is about 60 miles / 100 kms away, while Mt Rainier is just over 100 miles / 160 kms away. |
