 Wednesday, 30 October 1991 – From Lukla to Kathmandu: At 7:30 pm we all gathered together for dinner in the hotel’s dining room. I noted in my diary that “the food was of far more interest to us than the floor show by a cultural group”. I also remarked on the fact that “we were an amazingly sober group. Ralph and I had a Tuborg apiece; no-one else drank any alcohol at all.” On the left (going from left to right) are Ralph, Eric, Geoff, and Mike; on the right are Rod and – barely visible behind him – Jon and Diane. |
