An attempt on Lobuje East, 1991 |
 After the expedition: Our experiences on Lobuje East showed us that we really needed to upgrade our climbing skills, and as a result I arranged for five of us to go on a six-day April 1993 climbing course in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. This photograph was taken on the summit of Hochstetter Dome (2,810 metres above sea-level) by JR (namely, John Roberts), one of our two Alpine Guides’ instructors.
