Climbing Mt Mitchell |
 The route from my motel to Mt Mitchell was straightforward. I drove west on US federal highway 70 for a short distance before turning onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. I then headed north and north-east on it for 27 miles / 43 kilometres, at which point I turned left onto North Carolina state highway 128 and drove up it for a few miles until I reached the Mt Mitchell State Park office and information centre. |
