Spruce Knob, West Virginia |
 I arrived back at the parking lot at 3:20 pm – having spent an hour and forty minutes on or in the vicinity of the summit of Spruce Knob – and set off immediately for Virginia. My 2015 US highpointing season was over. It had been highly successful. During a nine-day spree, I’d either visited or hiked to the summits of the highpoints of seven states (namely, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia). The weather could have been better, though: it had rained quite heavily while I was on four of those seven state highpoints! |
