 Three months to the day after I visited the West Virginia state highpoint, John Fitch’s copy of issue 111 of the Highpointers Club Apex to Zenith Newsletter was delivered to his and Tess Fitch’s home. They opened the magazine and saw a picture of me standing on the top of the Spruce Knob observation tower. They showed the picture to our two-year-old grandson, Simon Fitch-Roberts, and – as Tess Fitch reported – “he immediately said it was Papa Nigel”, so Tess took this photograph of Simon holding up the magazine. I am using it to conclude this web-album, because I very much hope that Simon will accompany me to the summit of at least one of the remaining thirteen US state highpoints I hope I’ll visit or climb during the next few years.
