 LIVING IN JOHANNESBURG – Family friends: As mentioned earlier, some of the friendships forged by Bobby and Lilian while we were living in Johannesburg were literally life-long. Some also continued down through succeeding generations. For example, this is a photograph that was taken by Leslie Bate in the early 1960s of Gwynne and Beryl Davies and their three children, Alyson, Heather, and Mike. Like Bobby, Gwynne was a medical doctor, and Beryl was one of Lilian’s closest friends. |
