 HOLIDAYS – Game reserves: In April 1960, Bobby took this photograph of a giraffe (but not in the Kruger National Park; we were in the Hluhluwe game reserve in Natal). The giraffe was so close to us that at times it rubbed itself against our car, and it was impossible to include the whole animal in the picture. A giraffe at such close quarters is rather frightening: you become aware of just how big and how strong it is. |
