Thirteen Formative Years |
 HOLIDAYS – Drakensberg: When I visited Johannesburg in September 2019, I was delighted to spend a wonderful evening with Dave and Margaret Dodds’ sons – Rob, on the left in this photograph (that was taken by my brother Charlie) is four years younger than Ian, on the right, whom we saw in the previous picture in this web-album and who – it struck me fairly forcibly – looks very much like his father. Dave Dodds was a major mentor for me, and it was a privilege to be able to meet his and Margaret’s sons and their families nearly 60 years after I’d first climbed with Dave. |
