Climbing Mt Whitney |
 At 7:10 am, we caught up with a party of five climbers who were heading for the summit after spending the night at Trail Camp, and one of their number took this photo of Eric and me. We were at about 13,500 feet / 4,115 metres above sea-level, and – dare I say it – looking in remarkably good condition for people who’d had just three hours’ sleep and had been hiking for five-and-a-half hours. |
