Climbing Mt Whitney |
 ... answer the call of nature. As an earlier photo showed, the Interagency Visitor Centre tells climbers to “Pack Out Your Solid Waste”. To assist us to do so, we were given pack-it-out kits together with our Mt Whitney Zone permits. The kits contain WAG bags, standing for Waste Alleviation and Gelling bags. This is a photograph of a visitor centre display about the use of WAG bags. Speaking from experience, I can now report that when one is crouching behind a rock above the John Muir trail in temperatures below freezing, the system is not as simple as it looks! |
