 … Axel Holstensson (who is on the left in this picture). Axel and I – and Axel’s older sister, Marie – had been at primary school together in Johannesburg in the mid-1950s, and we hadn’t seen each other for 29 years. Axel and I were amazed to discover just how similar our interests were. Somehow, somewhere between the ages of 12 and 41, we both became runners and climbers (and Axel had already climbed Mt Kilimanjaro). |
