Climbing Mt Aylmer, 1994 |
A year after four friends and I went on a March 1993 alpine instruction course in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, I returned to the Southern Alps and – together with Gerry Kennedy, who had been one of our two 1993 Alpine Guides’ instructors – tackled two peaks in the Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park. The first was Mt Aylmer, a 2,699 metres / 8,855 feet peak at the head of Tasman Glacier. |
