Climbing White Butte, North Dakota

On 6 August 2013, John Fitch and I hiked to the top of White Butte, the highest point in North Dakota. The summit of White Butte is 3,506 feet / 1,069 metres above sea-level, and it’s the 30th highest of the fifty US state highpoints. White Butte was the 14th US state highpoint that I climbed; it was John Fitch's third.
